Mavericks 1 and Capital Wave A becomes the 2023 15U Boys’ and Girls’ Eastern National Champions
Ottawa, April 25, 2023 - Water Polo Canada announces the winners of its Individual Awards following the 2023 NCL 15U Eastern National Championships on Sunday, April 23, in Etobicoke.
Following three days of competition, Water Polo Canada’s 2023 NCL U15 Boys’ and Girls’ Eastern National Champions were crowned, the Mavericks 1 and Capital Wave A teams respectively. The 15U Eastern National Championships were attended by a total of 18 15U girls’ and boys’ teams from Ontario and Quebec. Final rankings are available at https://www.waterpolo.ca/article/84024.
Here are all the individual award winners following the conclusion of the 2023 NCL 15U Eastern National Championships:
Men
• Most Valuable Offensive Player: Ivan Khramtsov (Mississauga, ON-Mavericks 1)
• Most Valuable Defensive Player: Josh Golger (Toronto, ON-Mavericks 1)
• Most Valuable Goalie: Vaclav Toporcer (Scarborough, ON-Shadow)
• Most Valuable Coach: Dmitriy Veizovic (Toronto, ON-Mavericks 1)
Women
• Most Valuable Offensive Player: Amitis Soleimani (Montreal, L’Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève borough-CAMO)
• Most Valuable Defensive Player: Alexandra Wilson (Ottawa, ON-Capital Wave A)
• Most Valuable Goalie: Charlotte Anderson (Ottawa, ON-Capital Wave A)
• Most Valuable Coach: Mackenzie Greco (Nepean, ON-Capital Wave A)
All individual award winners were selected following a vote by the team coaches present at the 2023 15U Eastern National Championships.
The 15U Eastern National Championships are part of Water Polo Canada National Championship League (NCL), which was created in 2014 to bring the domestic club age group programs under a country wide umbrella that promotes the development of the sport. The NCL offers three categories of play: Senior, 17U, and 15U.
