Overview Launched in 2014, Water Polo Canada’s National Championship League (NCL) has redefined the competitive landscape of the sport in Canada. This season-long national series replaced the previous tournament model with a unified, high-performance framework that brings consistency, structure, and excellence to every level of play. With standardized rules, streamlined event delivery, and age-appropriate formats across Eastern and Western Conferences, the NCL strikes a powerful balance between competitive integrity and logistical practicality.
Today, the NCL stands as the cornerstone of Canadian water polo—delivering hundreds of meaningful games annually, accelerating the development of athletes, coaches, and referees, and culminating in electrifying National Championship events that spotlight the nation’s elite talent.
